THE SOUND OF IT - D.W.T.

LITERATURE - A PLAYGROUND OF WORDS

SOUND-ART      EXPERIMENT       INDEPENDENT      AMBIGUOUS AMBIENT

ARCH-ANARCH IMPROVISATIONS

Watch out! These SOUNDS/MUSIX/EARSCAPES are filled with complexity, some anarchy and chaotic pleasures. There are psychedelics, scapes and spheres, touches of Minimal and (dis-)illusions of structure. You'll find apparently dislocated soundings and noises. All of this doesn't mean at all, that you won't experience harmonic satisfactions - if you're looking for them - but most of the time, these just seem to happen, rather than being placed. This musix isn't afraid of familiarities and conventions - they are parts of the play.

But they are not allowed to dominate

mostly german and deviations from german (sound&word) - experimental language and sound, born out of the book 'LATITUDE RX420', to be found on this website

Neuer Text

wÖrld raDIO is an acoustic, partly Dadaist 'child' of my experimental work: Latitude RX420, in which Dada with visual/concrete poetry, graphic experiments, collage-like representations of language, association, feedback, overlaps, etc. meet, collide and connect. The individual tracks performed with different voices (my own) are under- and overlaid with credible and incredible sounds, partly electronic, partly acoustic, partly played with self-made instruments. The tracks are connected with medium-wave sounds/noises from the radio. wÖrld raDIO, as the name implies, is heard on several planets of our and other galaxies: That’s how it is. The basic language is German, on which, as it must be cosmopolitan, several alien languages are linked. The 'Chapter 7' recordings are short pieces of music that have been crystallised out of 'Latitude RX420' according to a certain letter logic from Chapter 7 extracts chosen, first played in the original order and then improvised over it. - More about 'Latitude RX420 - SubVersIonen - TexTouren' on my website: www.unding-e-verlag.com - The work 'wÖrld raDIO' will soon be available as a limited edition (double CD).

it (guiVAtar 2)

it - guiVAtar 2

This is 'it', and 'it' is the second in a series of albums called 'guiVAtar', where the guitar is in the center of attention. This one is a colourfully weird psychedelic, jazz-rocky e-guitar solo, that stretches over nearly 42 minutes - you'll find, e.g. melody-shreds amidst powerful periods of wild, frantic playing ... well: Dionysos, maybe... recorded in my own Dionysos Wizdom Underground. Chances are, you've never heard anything like it ... like 'it'! Virtuous playing of the e-guitar... by DIONYSOS WIZDOM THEATER - not planned, the whole thing - but, as I always try to remember, I had already put my finger on the recording button, for some video/sound-work I did for a friend ('Der Aggressionspunkt') - playing myself free - and that was 'it'

(for a tightened preview watch my video 'it in fragments' on bandcamp - the whole video can be bought on vimeo.)

THE DARK OPERA - In the Wake of the Machine

If human intelligence, at present still bound to the human body, is one of the driving aspects, if not  t h e  driving aspect of human evolution, one could easily assume, that the Anthro-pocene must be followed by the liberation of Intelligence from the dragging hardship of the organic body-existence. (Haven’t we, looking back-wards, experienced the ana-logy that came out of the middle ages? Didn’t we listen to the religiously and/or eso-terically-minded prophets, craving for the separation of body and soul - freedom in paradise…

And so we have the transhu-man future ahead of us, which some people (they are numerous!) can hardly wait for. And some of them are certain and heavily exited about the oncoming age of Friedrich Nietzsches Super-man.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Hold your trans-animated horses! May I interrupt the pretty and sterile narrative? Did Nietz-sche, this tragic Greek, this full-of-live Dionysos of a time to come, really mean the eclectic, the electric impulses of an absurdly mind-blowing Computer, more super- than ARTifiicial Intelligence? (Big Brother is thinking you! - Or, with the help of Descartes blinking bulb: You think me, (AI,) therefore I exist.)

After your one-way, and therefore chat-less GPS, that navigated you and your car only now and then right into the middle of nowhere, pro-claiming proudly: you’ve reached your destination! - a rather nihilistic approach to destiny, I’d say; after that you might have been wondering: what’s next? (If there is anything after nowhere…)

Well! The answer is here: The chat-happy GPT. (Alphabe-tically consequent: after S comes T - your cup of tea? Wait where it sends you! -

Or shouldn’t you wait?)

The machine - this pleasure inducing, still somehow strange entity - if it is one - the machine - this weapon for cruel action, for blood sucking: it offers death and destruction on the altar of a new age, offers another, a new faith, offers another world; and again it is a world beyond - beyond man at least - again and again: a world beyond… - the machine - saviour of billions, cleaner of a hot and choking atmosphere, that man created - and his/her machine.  - the machine - saves us from the machine - it evolves, so it seems… the good machine shall overcome the evil machine, so it seems…

The machine, indispensable! - needs your blood… and thought… and most of all: your spirit.

So I wish you the best spirit of all spirit: the one that’s close to you… and close to your body?

                                      A.D.

guiVAtar 1

is a for a long time planned project, first, as the name implicates, of a row of guitar dominated tracks, picked from other albums (or album projects) of mine or just from recordings along the way. The approaches to sound the instrument will differ quite a bit from album to album. Within an album the differences will be smaller.  Predominant: the experiment.

You'll find quite different approaches to sound and music here.

Dionysos Resurrection is a (tentative) response to the loss of sense and sensuality through the restoration (birth) of innate drives, growth potentials, ecstatic qualities and, if you like, a new edition of existentialist appropriation of life par excellence, in the sense of Friedrich Nietzsche and in the continuation in the sense (once assumed ;-) of French existentialism (perhaps Camus more than Sartre).

On the (last) track 'Dionysos Resurrection', which was released already a short time ago on my album 'guiVAtar 1', the guitar follows in exstatic alternation its own dream perception and relentlessly driving  rhythm.

Guaranteed no drugs needed - ecstasy as a gift of life itself

Debut-Introduction

This is a concept album. As far as I know: not really fashionable for decades, this offspring of Richard Wagner… (well, yes, there has been concepts in music before R.W.) - whatever, I don’t want to be too German about it… In regard to fashion though, you never know, popularities are constantly changing, aren’t they. Anyway, my concept for this album reaches from the different layers of sound and sound of voice and some different styles of music to the textural structure (sung lyrics, spoken lyrics, some prose, some embedded particles from aside).

Layers also from track to track. The latter include, amongst other things, the immense inspiration I draw from artist-musicians I cherish deeply (especially their works in that ’70s Show). I mention the most obvious ones (pseudo-citated by title, lyrics, context or bits of (style of) sound, and the album or track, that has influenced me in particular for ‚A Passion Sale‘:

Jethro Tull - A Passion Play; King Crimson - Asbury Park; Captain Beefheart (whom I - for a long time - actually knew only from Frank Zappa and the Mothers Album ‚Bongo Fury‘ - and closing that gap only about ten years ago. Beefheart also inspired me profoundly in the last decade to a special way of performing my experimental- literary work.) The fabulous track that pulsed me for this: Bat Chain Puller; and finally Pink Floyd - Echoes. - And, looking ahead (as one might guess after the last track ‚Future Echoes‘) Part II is in planning: Genesis… (and I reckon, you can guess, which Genesis I mean, regarding the timeline).

Now then, hoping you won’t compare my/our work with the wonderful performances of the wonderful artists I listed here, but maybe, in some parallel universe of feeling, you remember and cherish them with a little nostalgic smile on your face (and cherish those times, which, I might add, are not dead, they just smell funny - who said that about Jazz…?)

And yes, the lyrics!, of course, the lyrics (and here and there, I admit, the perhaps a little bit too apocalyptic sound); they refer, sometimes straight on, sometimes in a (at least I hope so) fairly nice surrealistic way, to the strange present times (but then, weren’t the given present ages strange at all times?) - well, whatcha say: I’m not only a man of yesteryear.

And, last not least, in regard to the psychedelic serenities and abnormalities of the album - and in regard to anything - so many thanks to that miraculous bunch of incredible cosmic players, as outlined on the cover, originating from some distant corners of our Solar System, The FreeQuaiNt Fusion, who I met first at the Earthwatch Cafe on the moon, at earthrise, of course, and who were doing so well - that’s how I feel about it anyway - in balancing, harmonising a n d dis-harmonising the earthly-conventional sounds with their spaced out electronic spheres; may their inspirations come from heaven or from hell - who knows, who cares. Well, I guess, coming from outer space, ’twas a piece of mooncake for them, maybe. And, yes, I’ve written that stuff - or rather: it has written me - but The FreeQuaiNt Fusion had extended it by a hearty dive right into the lungs of this humble microcosmic universe, making it breathe.

I hope you’ll enjoy The Passion Sale.
